Hey guys,
Let me be the first to say that this year's scouting system was a growing year. I started with an idea, things didn't work out as planned, and then kind of had to scramble and tweak it on the fly. Mistakes were made, and I'm fairly certain that most of the mistakes were either corrected, or won't have any major impact/long-lasting impact. If you have any issues with that, please PM me or start a new thread somewhere else, because moving forward, I want this thread to be strictly about the new scouting system.
For the new system, I am proposing three different levels of scouting. Each level would be earned by things done throughout the sim month, but every team would qualify for the lowest level of scouting.
Qualifications
Bronze: One CSL wiretap for one month of bronze or one CSL Insider/two CSL wiretaps for two months of bronze (just like currently)
Silver: Two CSL Insiders/four CSL wiretaps for two months of silver, or performing well in the Matchup of the Sim/Cyrisnyte's betting thread/up to my discretion for other bonus opportunities (which will be announced throughout the season)
Gold: Three CSL Insiders/six CSL wiretaps for two months of gold, or performing at an elite level in the Matchup of the Sim/Cyrisnyte's betting thread/up to my discretion for other bonus opportunities (which will be announced throughout the season).
What the levels bring you
Bronze: Similarly to last year, you will get a letter grade report, however, the player would first go through the normal scouting method (still working out the deviations, but the player's ratings would be +/- x amount for both current and potential) and then that would be put into a set letter grading system (A+ = 100 - 95, A = 94 - 90, etc). You will be able to scout 7 players per period, with the first time scouting a player only revealing current ratings, and the second time and every time thereafter revealing potential ratings.
Silver: You will receive a letter grade report, however, the deviation from the scouting method would be smaller, so it will be more accurate. That would then be put into the set letter grading system, and every time you scout you would receive both current and potential. There would also be a random chance of bonus information on each report (a player comparison, or shooting numbers, or shot tendencies, etc). You will be able to scout 6 players per period, since the emphasis accuracy means less time to scout players, but you have a more accurate report.
Gold: It is your choice whether you want to receive a letter grade report, or a numerical report. A letter grade report would have no deviation whatsoever, but of course would be subject to the letter grade ranges, and the numerical report would have the same small deviation that Silver would have, but you'd have the numerical ratings rather than the letter grades. There would also be a higher random chance of bonus information on each report. You can scout 6 players per period.
What are your thoughts on this? Tell me everything, what you like, what you don't like, what I should change, etc. I'm really interested in hearing feedback. I got time to tweak this before the season starts.
