Currently, TR for signed FAs is lifted on Jan 31.
In the NBA, it's up on Dec 15 (AFAIK), and the reason is so that those players can be traded again before the Feb 20 trade deadline.
As is, players that have been signed as FAs can only be traded once throughout the entire season.
I don't see why it has to be so late here (not sure if it's the engine), but I think having it lifted a little earlier would be better to promote more trading/activity and whatnot.

We can always discuss it, we can go around the restrictions in the game, just makes it easier for slip-ups to happen.
I'm open to talking about it at least, but 1) me and Dylan will discuss it internally as well as 2) I want to see some input from the GMs before we make any decisions.

I'd personally be more interested in extending the trade deadline to accommodate an extra trade for each player, if that's what you're after.
I like the lockout period - think it keeps people honest when signing free agents.

You can't extend the trade deadline. It's hardcoded.

Yeah that can't be done, unfortunately.

I'm down for any positive change that makes CSL more like its NBA counterpart as long as it doesn't crash the game so if there's no risk of that happening then I vote for a Dec. 15 date change.
If there's a risk of the game crashing then I vote no.

Oh ok lol, sounds good (not you guys crashing) but that's a valid point also, if it puts extra strain on you guys as admins to keep up w this then I may have to vote no.
You guys do enough as is.

We'd have to keep track separately, since I'm guessing all TR would just be turned off in that case.

I think something that needs to be considered here is that while the TR in the NBA is lifted on December 15th, the likelihood that a free agent is traded in the same year they sign is pretty low. At some point we as a league need to make sure free agency keeps its integrity as well as its realism. I understand a large part of sims is trading, but every move should be calculated and have consequence, you shouldn't just be able to get out of a bad signing for one reason or another by just shipping him off a couple months later as that is not typically realistic.

Y agree with LakeshowAK7 too. Also having to keep track of all TR manually isn't an ideal thing.
