Effective next season, there will be a new policy on extending players then trading. After a player sign an extension in season with your team, there will be a 60 day trade restriction. When you extend a player, the player extends to play with YOUR team for however many years and wouldn't be traded right away. So therefore, to avoid extend and trades the 60 day trade restriction will be in place and tracked by us.

Two things to add to this:
1) You may extend players that you have just traded for. Take the RL Carmelo trade, he signed an extension as part of that trade, well you may extend players if you just acquired them in a trade. 2) If a player is already TR'd, the extension restriction will not be added on, but will run concurrently. For instance, if you just traded for a player and immediately extend him, there will be no extra TR as he was TR'd for 60 days anyway. However, if he was set to be off restrictions in 15 days, extending him would re-start the 60 day TR clock.

Like all ideas brought up in both posts.

But you couldn't extend Melo here in CSL because his salary demands are too high correct?

Correct.

I like the idea, but I think the restriction should be longer probably. When a team and a player sign a 3 or 4 year extension they don't plan to play for 2 months then part ways.

I agree with Rizzo and Jake. I wouldn't mind to see 'rest of the season' trade restriction - i.e. if you extend player during any time of the regular season, you cannot trade him BEFORE offseason's but im fine either way.

Nah, irl Nene was extended by the Nuggets in the offseason then traded to the Wizards for JaVale McGee the same season.
I'm sure Nene didn't plan on playing 2 mnths then wind up getting traded either and I'm sure it's numerous other cases as well.
60 days seems practical.

Different story there.

I think 60 days is fine. People are impatient in sim leagues and a season is certainly a long time to wait.
