LUXURY TAX PENALTIES
The luxury tax for CSL is at 72.9M. This will determine whether your franchise is eligible to use the MLE, LLE etc. However, given that we use fake money in CSL, we've added some other tax penalties, to prevent franchises from going too far over the tax.
Level 1 ($79,035,398 - $86,186,593)
• Loss of the next available 2nd round pick for the following year, and loss of your MLE in the current offseason.
Level 2 ($86,186,594 or greater)
• Loss of the next available 1st round pick for the following year, and loss of LLE and MLE in the current offseason.
*The luxury tax penalty is applied at the end of the regular season. The following year indicates that it's not the upcoming draft but the next year after that (or further on if no picks are available that year).
HARD CAP PENALTY
The hard cap is currently set at 97,000,000. Teams cannot go over this number for any reason.
NOTE: The luxury tax penalties will not be in effect during the 2012-2013 season (our first season). We will start monitoring them in the 2013-2014 season, meaning that any team in the penalty during that year will be penalized for the 2014 offseason (loss of MLE or LLE) and the 2015 draft (following year's pick).
