Hey everyone,
Just so you all know, the regular season is set to end with Thursday night's sim. We are going to take Friday off and then start the playoffs. Here's how the playoff sim will work:
We will sim every day, and we will sim 1 game per day. That would set us up for a maximum of a 28 day playoff, if every round has a series last 7 games. In the event that we finish a round early (all series end in 4, 5, or 6 games), we will take a day off between series to allow teams to get set for the next round.
Comment below if you have any questions, concerns, etc.

1 sim per day (weekends?) for 28 days seems like dragging it out. You're definitely going to lose the interest of some players.
I suggest do at least 2. Have a half an hour break in between or something maybe.

I think one is good because it allows for GMs to make changes in strategies and DC's from game to game. Yes, it does get a bit long, especially for those of us who are not in the playoffs, but it is worth it for those vying for a CSL title.

We have GMs from all around the world and we have to make sure we don't just give an unintended, unfair advantage to those in our time zones. We will also have a bunch of draft stuff going on at the same time. The CSL Combine (which is composed of three different components) will be going on during the playoffs as well, so those who have a draft pick will have that to look forward to as well.

I definitely think that everyone should be able to edit their rosters between games, and that's why I said we should have a small break in between the games. It shortens the length and it still allows people to change their strats and DCs.

So even if 10 or more can make it, it's very unfair to those who can't make it. This way everyone gets ample time to make any changes needed.

In NSL, Jamal did the 2 sims per day thing (IIRC) and it worked beautifully. To each their own I guess.

I think 1 day sims it's ok and fair. It's all about playoffs, and if we're out (of playoffs) we should be able to still contribute commenting games. It's the most interesting games of the year, our team is in or not. Two games per sim is much more easier for the simmers, so if they decided to make the effort for 1game per sim it's a great thing for league IMO. Also not all the series go to 7 games, and while it's true that for conference finals we'll just have 4 GMs out of 30 left playing, I think conference finals and mostly the finals are some games we should all pay attention to and comment. Personally I'm looking forward to this playoffs, I'm in or not, and same if I'm out in the first round or not.

I like this. It's all about the playoffs in RL. It should be here too.

I do think it should be expected that the non-playoff GMs will not be as active...maybe have them play some sort of alternative role?
