Internally, we have discussed the idea of introducing player agents to the CSL. Player agents will be anonymous agents who will represent all of the CSL players in free agency. Rather than negotiating with the game and sending in .tem's and offers to those who have the game, you will negotiate with a with a real person who will take everything into account in the best interest of his client. We wanted to get your opinions on whether we should follow through with this idea. To get a better understanding on how it works...
The agents will be divided up into four different agencies. Each player in the CSL will be represented by one of the four agencies. If the player is a free agent, you will have to contact and negotiate with his agent if you want to sign him. The same goes for if you want to re-sign a player or sign a player to an extension. The goal here would be to make free agency more like the NBA.
Let us know your opinions. We want as much feedback on this as possible to decide whether we will go through with it.

I like this idea. Recently, a bunch of players have been signing extensions for far below market value. Hopefully this solves that.
But how would the agent remain anonymous? And would each GM represent a certain number of players? Or is there a select few GMs given the chance to be an agent.

Yes, please!
As long as this is done right I like this. All facets of a franchise/destination should be considered during free agency.

Even if the Identity is not revealed the agents know who you are and if they dont like you it will be hard for you to resign a player. Sure they will try to be objective but dont know if they are able to be. Have to say Im really scared by this idea. Already anticipating I will lose Vuc...
Absolutely against it.

All agents will be overseen by the commissioners to ensure no foul play, no biases unfairly come into play. We will not let agents let anything other than the clients desires be part of the decision making process. Also, Vuc is an RFA. There's no possible way you lose him other than you deciding to let him go. You have the right to match any offer he chooses and sign him to the Celtics for that offer.

Just believing teams like Golden State or Atlanta etc got a Big advantage if we start it now. Bledsoe, Curry or Sanders etc. could have earned way more. I know thats why you want to start, but I dont know if its the right way. Nevertheless, Im ok with what ever the majority wants, obviously.

We would obviously let anyone else who wants to sign players to an extension to do so through the game until the end of the season. We will never change rules mid-season. The PAs would come into effect for this offseason, and then we'll probably have a period at the end of next year for extensions negotiations with PAs.

Also would like to point out and have you all keep in mind: commissioners will carefully choose player agents and oversee them at all times, ensuring there will be no foul play.

I understand you guys don't want to change rules mid-season, but with the announcement of this idea mid-season, most GMs with knowledge of this happening will probably just extend their players to whatever they want to take advantage of this so they don't have to deal with agents. I think if you're gonna implement this, it's gotta be know imo.

Interesting. As always it's a great idea theoretically, not sure how it'll work IRL.
If this means actual negotiating between players and teams then I'm all for it though. It's what's always been lacking with just the engine IMO.

Also this kind of thing can be very subjective, so I can see some people being unhappy with certain results and whatnot.

That means if I want to extend vuc I could do so right now even if its not his last year of contract? Yeah I know you wont. You are doing everything really well. So much work you are doing for this league. I really appreciate it. If you are going to check all negotiations it could work out. Just dont know what happens if you or a Agent want to sign a player. You would be part of both sides of the negotiation. Not saying you would use that for an advantage, absolutely not, but it will be a tough situation to deal with. And how would you know whats the best for a player? Ok you will look at the Money he could get and maybe at their character ingame. But I believe there are so many aspects that impact a players decision. Just for example, how would you have decided for reallife iggy or howard? In Real Life a lot fas decide to Play for Big franchises like LA, so has LA an adantage here and utah a disadvantage? Or take a look at iggy, he could have earned way more but decided to Play for Golden State. I think its nearly impossible to get it done like in reallife. Not saying its a bad idea, but dont know how it should work out. So many open questions for me. I could even list 20+ more examples. If you have an idea how to solve problems like this Im absolutely open for this.
